Take-Two's CEO keeps talking about PC — and people are listening

No PC version has been announced, but the publisher's emphasis on the platform has revived speculation about how long console exclusivity lasts.

GTA 6 launches only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Yet Take-Two's chief executive has repeatedly stressed the importance of PC as a platform, and that emphasis has not gone unnoticed. Historically Rockstar brings its games to PC later — 19 months for GTA V, around 12 for Red Dead Redemption 2 — so the interesting question is not whether a PC version comes, but when. It matters enormously for roleplay, because FiveM runs on PC: without a PC release there can be no GTA 6 roleplay servers.

No gap between console and PC has been announced for GTA 6, so the only honest tool available is history: roughly 19 months for GTA V and 12 for Red Dead Redemption 2. Applied to November 19, 2026, that points to a plausible PC release in late 2027 or early 2028. It is an estimate from precedent rather than a date, and nobody outside Rockstar knows more.

In roleplay

This is the most important item on the site for roleplay planning, because FiveM is a PC client and Cfx.re has belonged to Rockstar since 2023. Without a PC version there is no GTA 6 roleplay, whatever the game itself contains. Communities should therefore treat 2027–2028 as their realistic horizon, keep GTA V servers running until then, and verify any claim of an earlier GTA 6 server rather than believe it.
