Protagonist

Jason Duval

One of the two playable protagonists. An ex-soldier who drifted into small-time crime on the Leonida coast and wants a quiet life — which is exactly what he never gets.

Jason served in the army, came back with no plan and settled in the Florida-inspired backwaters of Leonida, where he makes a living on the wrong side of the law. Rockstar describes him as a man who wants an easy life while everything around him gets harder. His partnership with Lucia is the engine of the whole story: two people who decide that if the system will not give them a future, they will take one.

What the official material leaves open is how far Jason's past reaches into the story. Rockstar has described the army, the drift into small-time crime and the wish for a quieter life, but nothing about missions, routes or the people he meets beyond the characters already named. He belongs to the coastal half of Leonida, and that is the part of the map to study when thinking about where ordinary characters come from.

In roleplay

For roleplay, Jason is the template of the ordinary man pulled in: a veteran without money, a quiet coast and a crew that recruits slowly. A server can use that shape for starting characters who need a reason to take a first job instead of a backstory full of crimes. His partnership with Lucia is written as a pair, so expect applications built around duos, and remember that GTA 6 multiplayer has not been announced.
